Just as some travel restrictions have been lifted, many holiday-goers are witnessing first hand the destruction of large areas of Greece, Turkey, Italy and more through blazing wildfires. As the scale of loss and destruction continues, as smoke from forest fires in Siberia reaches the North Pole, the catastrophe has come at the same time as the publishing of the UN IPCC report as 'code red for humanity.'

The landmark scientific report warns of increasingly extreme heatwaves, droughts and flooding, and a key temperature limit being broken in just over a decade.

The IPCC's document says, 'it is unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere, oceans and lands. ' The report comes as we have experienced continued seasons of unexpected and changeable weather from hale storms in July and extreme rain periods beginning August after intermittent weeks of heatwave temperatures.

The unsettling weather conditions and now brutal report on the state of the environment, on such an unequivocal scale, is anxiety inducing, particularly coming after such a tough year. Don't forget fear and anxiety are very closely aligned:

Our resident nutritionist, Ella Owen, explains: "Anxiety can take on many forms, from a sensation of butterflies in the stomach or lingering unpleasant thoughts in the mind, to a full-blown panic attack. In a stress response, the sympathetic nervous system gets activated and the body produces a cascade of hormones, namely cortisol and adrenalin. It is sometimes called a 'fight or flight' response."

We recommend some products for those feeling unsettled and experiencing unexpected anxiety in light of recent events:
