At JASON, we pride ourselves on putting only goodness into our products whilst keeping prices affordable and family friendly. For instance, when price permits we will always utilise organic ingredients, and if we learn that a particular ingredient we previously considered safe for use may be bad for our health or the environment, or just simply ineffective, we will research until we find the solution that works for us and our customers.

Here, we share with you the ingredients that make up the foundations of the majority of our body washes, and their skin benefits.

Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice

Aloe vera was known as the plant of eternity by ancient Egyptians. Various studies have concluded that aloe vera has several properties that are effective in treating a variety of skincare conditions such as dry and flakey skin, eczema and more. Aloe vera leaves contain an enormous amount of antioxidants including vitamin C and E which can help with hydration and improving the skin's natural firmness, preventing ageing and improving stretchmarks. Aloe vera gel also contains two compounds called auxin and gibberellins which can reduce skin inflammation and wound healing. For this reason, if you suffer from body breakouts, our body washes could be a good choice for you.

Organic Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract

Marigold extract, or calendula, has been used on the skin since ancient Roman times to treat wounds, burns and infections. Calendula possesses both anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties and is commonly used in products to treat acne, dermatitis, dry skin, eczema and more. Calendula is rich in both vitamin E and carotenoids, powerful antioxidants that can help protect the skin from free radical damage.

Organic Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract

Being native to Asia, Europe, Australia and North America, chamomile grows all over the world. It was used in ancient Egyptian, Roman and Greek civilisations for the relief of pain, nausea, inflammation and skin conditions. When it comes to skincare, chamomile has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-fungal properties, plus it is also rich in antioxidants that help reduce acne, breakouts, scars and irritation.

Spirulina Maxima Extract

Spirulina is rich in vitamins and minerals essential for skin health, including vitamins A, B12 and E, calcium, iron, phosphorus and selenium. Spirulina also contains an amino acid called tyrosine, which is shown to slow down the ageing of skin cells.

Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil

Sunflower seed oil has emollient (water-attracting) properties, which means it helps skin retain moisture, and is also calming to irritated or inflamed skin. Sunflower seed oil is vitamins E, A, C and D plus essential fatty acids, all important in skin health.

Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil

Apricot kernel oil is rich in essential fatty acids, including oleic and linoleic acid, and vitamin A. The fatty acids have superior softening and moisturising properties, and apricot oil also penetrates the skin easily, making it a good choice for dry, irritated or mature skin.

Allantoin

Allantoin is a chemical compound found in comfrey. This ingredient helps skin to tolerate other ingredients and helps to soften and soothe skin whilst stimulating the growth of healthy skin cells.
